STARR CHUMARD'S BACKGROUND
Starr was born and raised in South Carolina and always had a love for animals. After graduating from the University of South Carolina Upstate in 2006, she moved around to New York City, Phoenix, New Mexico, and finally settled with her husband in Pennsylvania.
Starr and Matthew adopted their first two dogs, Ray and Clifford, in Phoenix. In 2011 when they adopted their third dog, Emma, Starr realized she needed training. Starr found Anton Yablonsky with Lorenzo's Dog Training Team and learned what dog training was all about. In 2015, after they had been relocated to Holloman AFB, New Mexico, they adopted their fourth dog, Ty. Ty needed training, and after experiencing training with Lorenzo's Dog Training Team, Starr knew she would only trust Lorenzo's to train Ty. Starr drove Ty 7 hours to Anton in Phoenix to be trained. Anton mentioned that Starr might want to become a professional dog trainer herself, and Starr began to think about that possibility. While this was a dream for Starr, she felt unsure that she had what it would take, so she chose to think about it a while and finish up her Master's degree at New Mexico State University. While in New Mexico, Starr spent countless hours working with a local dog rescue. Starr loved rescue but saw the need for training and it fueled her desire to be a professional dog trainer. Keeping dogs in happy homes was directly related to training. When she pulled a Pit Bull, Mishka, from the shelter in early 2017 and again drove 7 hours to Anton, she decided that she was ready to take the leap to become a professional dog trainer. With Anton's encouragement, she applied to Lorenzo's Dog Training Team. Starr has worked hard to reach her dream of becoming a professional dog trainer and is working hard to help dogs in eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
CLIENT TESTIMONIALS
Before meeting Starr from Lorenzo's Dog Training Team, I ran out of options for my dog, Brutus, who suffers from extreme separation anxiety. Up to that point, I had tried every medication, both medically and holistically, and nothing seemed to curb his anxiety, which consisted of urination and defecation all over the house whenever I would step out or leave even for 5 minutes. When Starr came into my life, it was like a weight was lifted. She explained that while Brutus had anxiety, his soiling behaviors were actually a form of dominance as well. Learning the motions and commands, Lorenzo's training methods came easy to me due to my job as a technician at an animal hospital. Starr always made herself available, even on weekends when I had questions. Once we started the training, the house soiling stopped. I am proud to announce that it has been 4 months since we finished training, and there have still been no accidents at all. I am beyond grateful for Starr and Lorenzo's Dog Training Team. They gave me my life back. I can now leave my house without wondering if there's going to be a mess when I get home, and it has further bonded the relationship of me and my dog, Brutus. I am a loyal Lorenzo's customer and never hesitate to tell people my success story because Lorenzo’s and Starr have truly changed my life and brought my good boy, Brutus, back. If there is anyone struggling with a pet who has anxiety, aggression, or any other behavior related issue, I strongly recommend Lorenzo's Dog Training Team. You won't be disappointed.
