Eric Hardaway Professional Dog Trainer

ERIC HARDAWAY'S BACKGROUND

Eric was born and raised around the Eagle Mountain Lake area of Fort Worth, Texas. He attended and graduated high school at Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, Texas before heading to Texas Tech University to further his education. Eric transferred to several universities, including the University of Texas at Austin and the University of North Texas, before returning to Texas Tech to graduate with a degree in Psychology.

Eric started his working life with AT&T Wireless as a Sales Associate but was quickly promoted to Store Manager in the Houston area being named to the President’s Club (top 1% of all sales) twice during his time with AT&T. Soon afterward, he moved to Napa, California to pursue a career in the wine industry with Ramian Estate and helped create a new name in the marketplace that thrives to this day. After Napa, he moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to once again build a new brand in the culinary industry with Butcher & Baker.

The call of home eventually proved to be too great and one of Texas’ native sons returned to his birthplace and to his family. Eric began a career as a Wildlife Specialist with Critter Control helping to protect animals from people and people and property from animals. At this time, his best friend and business partner, “Bacon”, also came into his life. Bacon, a rescued German Shepherd, needed training so Eric spoke with his veterinarian who recommended Lorenzo’s Dog Training Team and their team trainer Matthew Watson. Working together with Matthew, Eric was passionate about learning how to train his dog, and he kept asking his trainer to teach him more training techniques. Matthew embraced the desire of his client by inviting Eric to join Lorenzo’s Dog Training Team.

Today, Eric and Bacon can be found around the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex looking for and helping dogs and their owners every chance they get. Eric’s love of animals and his dedication to keeping dogs out of shelters is evident when you meet him. He is very proud to be a part of Lorenzo’s Dog Training Team, and he encourages you to call his name should you need any assistance with your dog.

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS

After contacting you regarding problems we were experiencing regarding the aggressive behavior in our four-year-old German Shepherd Sadie, we purchased the Basic Obedience program. Eric Hardaway was the assigned trainer, and although he demonstrated immediate skill in handling Sadie, I was a little skeptical that the program would resolve her aggression with strangers. As we approach the end of our program with only 1 in-home session remaining, I wanted to share with you our satisfaction with the results.

Eric has built a strong bond of respect and comradery with Sadie, he has demonstrated compassion and a comprehensive knowledge of how to optimally work with her through the Lorenzo Theory, and has provided unlimited patience in ‘training’ my husband and me. Sadie no longer needs to be put in another room when we have guests and no longer attacks the door when a stranger arrives. I am amazed at the progress we have made in such a short period of time. She is much calmer and very obedient which makes for a happier environment.

We understand that dedication to the training methods will continue long into the future and are VERY grateful to Eric and the program. We have used other ‘professional’ trainers in the past, but have not seen such excellent results. Because of this, we would not consider using any other training program in the future.

Thanks again!

Two happy ‘puppy’ parents,

Dawg is an Australian Shepherd mix. He's a very loyal and affectionate dog, but suffered from separation anxiety and was very hard to control. When walking him, he'd jerk me all over the place. He wanted to chase other dogs, bicycles, cats, rabbits, skateboarders, joggers or anyone else who walked or ran by. I had rope burns on my hand from wrapping the leash around them in a futile attempt to hold him back. Desperate for help, I turned to my veterinarian who referred me Lorenzo's Dog Training. Eric and Matt came and gave Dawg a free evaluation. Eric began Dawg's training immediately and was professional, kind, patient and very knowledgeable. I can now leave Dawg alone in his kennel without any anxiety (for either of us). He no longer follows me from room to room and we can enjoy our walks, as Dawg continues to stay to my left and heels when any of the previous distractions come around. If you have a dog who is controlling you, I would highly recommend you contact Lorenzo's Dog Training. It was the best decision I made for the wellbeing of both my dog and me.

We'd like to give a hats off to Eric (Hardaway), our trainer, who took our out-of-control Pembrooke Corgi, Cora, and taught her to obey. Eric was fabulous. Cora now obeys when we issue commands. She no longer barks, bites, or runs away from us. Eric did a great job. He was always kind and patient no matter how many questions we asked. He not only taught our pet, but he taught us the skills we need to be successful dog owners. We miss him already.
