ASHLEY ENGELHART'S BACKGROUND

Born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, Ashley spent most of her childhood in apartments and rented houses that didn’t allow pets. Although Ashley’s parents told her they could not have any pets, she begged for a puppy for 10 years. Finally, on Christmas of 1998, Ashley woke up to a puppy in her bed. She quickly learned that “Wolfie” was not perfect, and not wanting to upset her mom, Ashley taught her puppy basic obedience and some tricks.

With time, Ashley’s love towards the dogs grew. She went to college to receive an Applied Associate Degree in Animal Technology. While studying, Ashley worked at various veterinary clinics, working her way up to a veterinary technician position. Yet, she felt there was more!

Ashley met Lorenzo’s Dog Training Team after working with Matthew Watson, who helped her strengthen the bond with her personal dog, Ziggy. Ashley tried to apply known training techniques to improve stubborn Ziggy, but they all failed. The method of training Matthew shared with Ashley showed instant success, and she truly felt and knew at that point that she wanted to do the same rewarding job Matthew did. Ashley uncovered a passion she did not know she had. Soon, Ashley applied with Lorenzo’s Dog Training Team to become a team trainer. A couple of months later she traveled to Cleveland and started their certification program in order to return back to Texas as a professional dog trainer.

I have a three-year-old APBT, Tiki, that I have had since she was 10 days old. My sweet Tiki was a bundle of love, energy, and BAD manners. Living on 5 partially fenced acres, my other dogs would never stray far. Though if it happened, they come back when called. Not Tiki, she would take off and disappear and not come back when called! I would have to go searching for her throughout the neighborhood. When I would finally find her and put a leash on, I would get dragged home like a rag doll! I couldn't take the constant worrying of her running off and getting lost, hit by a car, stolen, etc.! I hated that feeling of dread I would get when taking a walk that she would either dislocate my shoulder or yank me into the street! Tiki was no longer feeling like a part of my family, she had to stay locked inside the house when my other dogs came outside. She was left out of my day trip outings for her bad behavior, and it was upsetting to both of us! So, I finally contacted my old college friend Ashley with Lorenzo's Dog Training. After some much needed training, Tiki can now be part of the family and join us wherever I go! Thanks, Ashley, for helping Tiki to become a GOOD girl!

My dog, Yogi, a Lab, was given to me at the age of 4 months from an abandoned litter of nine. He was a cute little pup, and I was able to survive his bad behavior for two years as a wild and unruly creature. But then I realized he was leading us both down a dangerous path, and he was no longer a puppy, but rather a large dog now. As fate would have it, the inevitable finally happened, and his actions resulted in a fall which fractured my pelvis in two places. He was just too big and unruly and always pulling on the leash and darting out the door. For me in my seventies, this was just too much for me to handle alone without help. After a painful two-month recovery period, ASHLEY suggested LORENZO'S DOG TRAINING TEAM and her services. So, we started our training program. After only a few sessions, my dog turned into a lovable, well behaved dog everyone can enjoy. Ashley is definitely what you could call "THE DOG WHISPERER" and is a true professional in the field of dog training. She definitely gets the needed results from all the dogs she trains.

Ashley is a miracle worker! Truly, a miracle worker. We were fond of saying our dog is "a special needs dog" because of his aggressive and very protective nature. I thought he was probably untrainable, especially since he was 10 years old when we finally called Lorenzo's. And when we made the call, we were expecting another trainer - one that was older and with more experience. But we were lucky that he was too busy, and we got Ashley instead. Because within days, she had already made remarkable progress with Heyday and after just a few weeks. She had us and Heyday trained and able to take walks in the park and at the lake, and Heyday can now be around other dogs and remain in control. No one can believe he's the same dog because he's so well behaved and a much happier little guy. But the truly wonderful thing that happened is that we all made a life long friend -- whenever Heyday sees her now, he can barely wait to get out of the car to greet her (and Ziggy too), and we feel the same way.

We adopted a cute lil' pup from the pound, and we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. He was so hyper and liked to tear EVERYTHING up, including us.
